From ThinkPHP to Shopify Hydrogen: Segai's Migration Story
How Segai moved from legacy ThinkPHP to Shopify Hydrogen with Weaverse, improving speed, Core Web Vitals, day-to-day page editing, and native internationalization.

Segai Innovation makes AI-powered consumer technology for intimate wellness. Its legacy ThinkPHP storefront had become slow to maintain and disconnected from the Shopify systems the team used to run the business. With Weaverse, Segai rebuilt on Shopify Hydrogen and gained a faster storefront, centralized operations, and a visual editing workflow its non-technical team can use without routine developer support.

Client context
Segai Innovation creates premium, discreet products for intimate wellness. The brand sells through its own storefront, where trust, refinement, and a polished digital experience matter as much as the product itself. That put pressure on its legacy storefront to keep up.
The challenge
Segai's storefront ran on ThinkPHP, a legacy framework that had aged out. Routine storefront changes depended on developers, the design could not keep pace with the experience the team wanted, and order data, customer data, and content were split between the old stack and Shopify.
Why Segai chose Hydrogen and Weaverse
Hydrogen gave Segai the architecture for a modern, high-performance storefront. Weaverse closed the decision: its visual builder let Segai's non-technical team build and edit pages, including complex product pages, without touching code or waiting on a developer.
"Even our non-technical business team members can easily build and customize any page on the storefront using simple drag-and-drop tools."

The solution
Segai did not layer a redesign over the old stack. The team migrated fully from ThinkPHP to Shopify Hydrogen, with Weaverse as the visual editing layer. Routine storefront updates moved from developer-only work to a workflow Segai's own team could handle day to day.

Segai credited Weaverse's dedicated support and fast response times throughout the project. That support continued after launch: when a critical issue threatened key store performance metrics, the Weaverse team responded immediately and shipped a fix.
Native internationalization
Weaverse set up native internationalization for Segai, so the team can manage English, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese translations in the same visual workflow it uses to edit the storefront. Segai can also show market-specific content for different Shopify Markets rather than treating every market as identical.

Results
Segai described the move from ThinkPHP to Hydrogen as a massive leap in site speed. The old storefront was largely static, yet it felt slow and did not pass Core Web Vitals. The new Hydrogen storefront passes Core Web Vitals and navigation feels instant, even with interactive effects, transitions, and animations.
Segai's storefront operations are now centralized in Shopify's ecosystem. Orders, customer data, storefront content, and core analytics can be managed from one place instead of being split across the legacy stack and Shopify.
"We've contacted a dozen suppliers. Without a doubt, Weaverse is the finest Shopify Hydrogen solution provider on the market today. Their development capabilities, product architecture, and customer service are truly top-notch."
