Navigation in Weaverse is a powerful feature that based on Shopify navigation menu, allows you to customize the navigation menu for your storefront.
In the navigation menu, you can create the following types of menu items:
- Mega Menu: 3 or more levels of sub-menu nested
- Image Menu: All sub menu items have resources such as Product, Collection, Blog
- Dropdown Menu: 2 levels of sub-menu nested
- Basic menu: The menu item has no sub-menu items
Navigation Configuration
To configure the navigation in your Weaverse theme, follow these steps:
- Open shopify admin and navigate to Online Store > Navigation.
- Select the Main menu with "main-menu" handle.
- Click Add menu item.
- Enter the name of the menu item in the Name field. This will be the text that appears in the navigation menu.
- In the Link field, enter the URL or choose from the drop-down list to link to a specific page, collection, blog, or other content on your Shopify store.
- At last, click on the Add button.
- Rearrange the menu items You can rearrange the order of the menu items by dragging and dropping them. To create a nested dropdown menu, drag a menu item slightly to the right underneath another menu item. It will become a sub-menu item.
4 Types of Menu
How the navigation menu is displayed in the storefront depends on how you nested the menu items.
Basic Menu
Just let the menu item have no sub-menu items like the image below.
and the navigation menu will be like the image below.
Dropdown Menu
If menu item has 1 level of sub-menu items, it will be displayed as a dropdown menu.
and the navigation menu will be like the image below.
Image Menu
If sub-menu item has resources such as Product, Collection, Blog and has no nested items.
For the image below, the menu item 1 has sub-menu items are all resource type, 4 collections.
and the navigation menu will be like the image below.
Mega Menu
If menu item has 2 or more levels of sub-menu items, it will be displayed as a mega menu. If the sub-menu item has no sub-menu items but has resources such as Product, Collection, Blog, It will be displayed as the image.
For the image below, the menu item 1 has 2 levels of sub-menu items, and has 1 resource type is Product
and the navigation menu will be like the image below.
